Awesome Antelope Canyon
Today was another memorable day. It started early with a tiny rodent surprise that got us up and moving. We left the Grand Canyon Lodge to head east around the rim. The Grand Canyon is actually 277 miles long, so driving around the canyon takes hours. We stopped at Horseshoe Bend, one of the most photographed areas of the Grand Canyon. The round trip hike was an easy 1.5 miles, not too bad even though the temperature was rapidly climbing towards 100 degrees.
Ten minutes away from Horseshoe Bend was the entrance to the Navajo Reservation where our escorted tour of Antelope Canyon began. We loaded in the back of a large truck to drive the three miles to the entrance. Our guide, Vidaran, was the true photographer and ultimate guide of our magical trip through the canyon. Look at the pictures and see if you can find a blue lady, a rose, a shark, an angel and the Microsoft background screen.
After Antelope Canyon, we drove 4+ hours to Moab in Utah to rest at a hotel before our next adventure.
