Turtle Thursday

Thursday started out with a day at the beach, no surprise. We then went back to the taco restaurant for chicken nuggets and I got mahi tacos this time. Thursday evening, we loaded onto a bus for 40 minute ride down dirt roads to spot turtles. We first saw a baby turtle make his way down to the water. When we turned around two mom turtles came up the beach to lay eggs. The sand was really dry, so the turtles but couldn’t successfully lay eggs. We then saw another nest hatch with around 20 more baby turtles run down to the shore. The red flashlights were used so the turtles didn’t get confused with where the moon and water were. This night was one of Maggie’s favorite.
