Magical Monteverde

This was one of the best days of the trip! We started out taking a bus to Sky Adventures where we took a tram up to the top of the mountain for views, smoothies and coffee. We then walked the hanging bridge trails through the reserve to listen to the birds and see the beautiful views. After we returned to our cabana, we took a taxi to the Treehouse Restaurant which had an amazing tree that was growing up the center. We stopped by a bakery before taking a taxi up the giant hill. In the evening, we got on the wrong shuttle to the El Refugio Reserve after a little confusion but met our private guide, Alejandro, when we got there. The four of us was lead through the dark woods where we saw a sloth (only animal left I haven’t seen on my trip), viper, scorpion, ants, toucan, humming bird, mumu bird and tarantulas. After a lot of hiking all day, Maggie was a little cranky and the guide did owl calls trying to find her an owl who called back. We ended our day with more food at a restaurant before a great sleep.
